Description

With a primary teacher and support from parents, young learners will have a taste of being in a homeschool cooperative program.  Each week follows a theme with enrichment activities in science, movement, nature, the arts, math, games, holidays, and more to support whole-child learning and development.  Sample themes include butterflies, May Day, seeds, snow, harvest, pets, water, and dinosaurs. Children go outside every day and must always have weather appropriate attire. There is also the opportunity to interact with older students who visit for story time and project help, and during community recess and lunch time.  Children must come with lunch, snacks, and a water bottle.

Because of limited availability, you must get approval to register for Young Child.  Please email [email protected].

The age range for this program is 5-7, with special exceptions made for four-year-olds who have demonstrated the ability to participate in activities.  Children must be able to take care of pottying needs, and to access and prepare their lunches and snacks.

Parents and caregivers are a necessary part of our program and being on-site for their children in the young child program gives them a chance to meet their child’s friends, work with their teachers, and to be an integral part of all of the behind the scenes efforts that make our cooperative successful.

While some families utilize Latitude every day of the week for the elementary age kids and teens, it is recommended that children who are five come one day a week during their first semester at Latitude.  When they are older, the number of days can increase with their increased independence.  Children must be fully potty-trained and be able to take care of getting supplies, getting their lunch, and putting on winter gear.

Families are asked to donate supplies to cover consumables use or pay a $50 fee.

Young Children who are 5-7 students may sometimes enroll in a class for our regular program with permission from the teacher.

If you would like to utilize EFA or CSF money for our program, select pay in full and then select that option at checkout. Once the order is received, you will be emailed an invoice to submit to the program for approval. It is your responsibility to send the invoice to the EFA Program for direct payment to Latitude.
