Description
Philanthropy offers rich educational opportunities while also helping to build confident, kind, adults who make a difference in their communities. Students will decide on a project for the semester. Some ideas include:
- volunteering each week at the local nursing home to read to residents
- volunteering at the soup kitchen down the street to organize pantry items, clean, etc.,
- designing and implementing a community garden
- planning and executing a fundraising event for a charity
- Volunteering to offer a toddler story and song time at the library
Students will need up to date transportation permission slips to participate in this class.
