Who Arted?

Explore influential artists and movements, followed by creating original pieces inspired by each discussion. Each week we will be given “clues” (some info and some key works of about each artist and then we will guess “Who arted”. This class mixes learning with creative expression, focusing on the cultural impact of art. No special art skills are required, although we will be creating simple projects inspired by each artist or movement. Expectations: Students should be able to sit, read, and listen for 20 minutes during each artist introduction and engage respectfully in group discussions and activities. Content warning: some controversial, political and/or more mature subjects may come up within the context of art.
