This high school level course will cover geopolitical and topographical geography of our world and will be divided into two semesters. For first semester, we will cover North America, South America, and Europe. Second semester will cover Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. With each continent, we will learn about religions, cultures and demographics, economies, and government. By the end of the semester, students will know the oceans, continents, countries and capitals, mountain chains, major rivers and lakes, major religions, types of economies, systems of government, and the major cultural trends and movements in our world. As we globetrot, we will read historic and modern accounts to coincide with the lessons. There will be homework including reading and writing, as well as a semester-long project of the student’s choosing.
A general atlas will be helpful.
