Desperation, Despair, & Disorders: Literature and Writing

This class meets Mondays and Wednesdays, but will accommodate students who participate in homeschool skiing on Mondays through February.  

Classwork will involve discussion of literature,
learning writing skills, and writing practice. We will begin the
semester with simple writing exercises and will progress toward a research paper. Written work will cover vocabulary,
grammar, and punctuation skills. Homework will include weekly reading and
writing. Students who are not willing to do the homework should not take
this class.

Works covered this semester will include Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey, and A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. 

There is a $60 book fee for this class, which will cover all of the works listed above.
