For Winter 2024, homeschool students in the equivalent of ninth through twelfth grades (with special consideration for some eighth graders) can take courses to fulfill their homeschool portfolio needs. Some classes meet twice per week on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursdays and some classes meet just once. Classes will be offered in a yearly rotation to enable students to have a well-rounded education in mathematics, history, English, and science. Additional classes will be available in social sciences and art. Homework will be part of every class; testing and grading will not.
Year 1 - There will always be a literature and writing focus in English classes. Year one first semester will focus on essay writing, and second semester on writing a research paper. For history, the focus is geography and world cultures. Science will focus on biological. Math courses offered will be algebra 1 and geometry.
Years 2 - 4 – Future years will incorporate essay writing, creative writing, public speaking, poetry, and research with classes covering the American experience, ancient to modern literature, world history, and government. Science courses will vary between biological and physical. Math courses will be based on student need.
You must purchase a Membership PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR PROGRAM DAY(s), either a Child Membership if you have one child, or a Family Membership if you have more than one child. This pays for registration and admin costs for the year.
Some classes will have additional material fees.
YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE PROGRAM DAY(S) OF THE WEEK BEFORE YOU CAN SELECT CLASSES. If you select classes first, the class registrations will be cancelled. Once you register for your semester days, your confirmation email will contain the link to select classes.
Families are asked to donate consumables such as paper towels, cleaning supplies, or pay $50 each semester.
Parents and caregivers are a necessary part of our community and volunteering gives them a chance to meet their child’s friends, work with their teachers, and to be an integral part of all of the behind the scenes efforts that make our program successful. Therefore, we ask parents to commit to four volunteer opportunities, which can include recess/lunch help, young child classroom help, substitute teaching, classroom assistance, social media help, social events, special events, and fundraising. Those unable to volunteer can donate financially to Latitude.
If you would like to utilize EFA or CSF money for our program, on the payment screen select that option. It is your responsibility to send the invoice to the EFA Program for direct payment to Latitude.
Please note for all Program Days: $50 is non-refundable. If you cancel your registration, up to 1 week before start day, 85% will be refunded minus deposit. Then 1st week: 75%, 2nd: 65%, 3rd: 55%, 4th: 50%, after 0%.
Class materials and supplies and social event admission are always non-refundable.
