Learn how to code using the child friendly language of Scratch from MIT. Through guided exercises, children will learn how to code videogames, animations, text, stories, and music. The target age is 7+. Younger kids are allowed if they are able to follow instructor and participate in programming. Work will be based on skill level and familiarity with Scratch.
Students should bring a laptop as Latitude does not have enough for every student. They should have a Scratch account already established and be able to access with the right credentials. Jon will email all families prior to the start of the class with instructions.
Students should have access to a computer at home for 1-2 hours per week to work on their Scratch projects and continue learning. The single 45 minute class should not be the only time they use Scratch.
