This year-long high school level course will cover American History including Native American history, days of exploration, European settlement, the Colonial and Revolutionary periods, our governmental system, the early nation, the Civil War, westward expansion, the 20th century, and the early 21st century. There will be outside reading so that students are prepared for class discussions. Students can also expect writing assignments and projects as part of the class. First semester will cover everything through the Civil War, while second semester will cover the periods up to modern day.
The book fee for this class covers a history reader and a primary source compendium.
This class meets first and second period. Students must stay for both periods.
